- Replace switches and plugs - Switches and plugs do wearout over time and are inexpensive to replace although the job can be time consuming. Older houses without a ground wire should have one added if possible, if not it should be determined if a GFCI's can be installed to protect against accidental electric shock.
- Lighting - Update lighting fixtures and replace incandescent bulbs with alternatives (CFL, LED, ETC)
